Bracelets

གདུ་བུ་ལ་གསུམ་མམ་བཞི་ཡོོད་པར་བཤད་དེ། གསུམ་ནི།
It is explained that there are three or four types of bracelets; the three are:

1. the bracelet that ornaments the wrist ཕྱག་གི་མཁྲིག་མར་བརྒྱན་པའི་ཕྱག་གདུབ།
2. the armband decorating the upper arm དཔུང་པར་བརྒྱན་པའི་དཔུང་རྒྱན།
3. the anklet that ornaments the ankle ཞབས་ཀྱི་ལོོང་བུར་བརྒྱན་པའི་ཞབས་གདུབ།

བཞིར་བྱེད་ན། སྔ་མ་གསུམ་གྱི་སྟེང་དུ་ཚིགས་རྒྱན་ཞེས་པ་ཕྱག་གི་གྲུ་མོོའི་ཚིགས་སུ་བརྒྱན་པའི་ཚིགས་རྒྱན་དང་།
མཁས་པ་འགའ་ཞིག་གིས་ཚིགས་རྒྱན་ནི་གྲུ་མོོ་དང་པུས་མོོའི་ཚིགས་གཉིས་ཀའི་རྒྱན་དུ་ཡང་བཤད།
If there are four, then in addition to the previous three, there is a "joint ornament", which is an ornament decorating the elbow joint. Some scholars also explain the joint ornament as being a decoration for both the elbow and the knee joints.

དེ་ལྟར་ན་རྒྱན་དྲུག་གི་ནང་ཚན་གྱི་གདུ་བུ་ལ།
As such, in terms of the bracelets that are a subdivision of the six ornaments:

• One system explains three: the bracelet, the armband, and the anklet
  ཕྱག་གདུབ། དཔུང་རྒྱན། ཞབས་གདུབ་གསུམ་བཤད་པའི་ལུགས་གཅིག་དང་།
• One system explains four: the bracelet, the armband, the anklet, and the elbow joint ornament
  ཕྱག་གདུབ། དཔུང་རྒྱན། ཞབས་གདུབ། གྲུ་མོོའི་ཚིགས་རྒྱན་བཞི་བཤད་པའི་ལུགས་གཅིག་དང་།
• One system explains five: the bracelet, the armband, the anklet, the elbow joint ornament, and the knee joint ornament ཕྱག་གདུབ། དཔུང་རྒྱན། ཞབས་གདུབ། གྲུ་མོོའི་ཚིགས་རྒྱན། པུས་མོོའི་ཚིགས་རྒྱན་ལྔ་བཤད་པའི་ལུགས་གཅིག་སྟེ།

ལུགས་མི་འདྲ་བ་གསུམ་མཐོོང་ཡང་། འདིར་མཁས་མཆོག་འཇམ་དབྱངས་བཞད་པ་དང་།
བསྐལ་བཟང་རྒྱ་མཚོོ་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་བཤད་པ་ལྟར་ཕྱག་གདུབ། དཔུང་རྒྱན། ཞབས་གདུབ་གསུམ་བཤད་པར་བྱའོོ།
Although these three different systems are found, here I shall explain them as being three (the bracelet, the armband, and the anklet) in accordance with the explanations of both the supreme scholars Jamyang Shepa and Kalsang Gyatso.

དེས་ན་ལུགས་འདིར་རྒྱན་དྲུག་གི་ནང་ཚན་གདུ་བུ་ལ།
Therefore, in this system, the bracelets that are a subdivision of the six ornaments are of three types:

1. Bracelets ཕྱག་གདུབ།
2. Armbands དཔུང་རྒྱན།
3. Anklets ཞབས་གདུབ།

ཕྱག་གདུབ་ནི། ཕྱག་གི་འཁྲིག་མའི་མདུན་ངོས་སུ་རུས་པའི་འཁོར་ལོོ་རྩིབས་དྲུག་པ། འཁྲིག་མའི་རྒྱབ་ངོས་སུ་རུས་པའི་འཁོར་ལོ་རྩིབས་གསུམ་པ། འཁོར་ལོ་དེ་གཉིས་ཀྱི་བར་དུ་རུས་པའི་ཕྲེང་བ་གཉིས་བཤིབས་ཀྱིས་ཀུ་རུ་ཁའི་ཚུལ་དུ་སྤེལ་བ། འཁོར་ལོོ་དེ་གཉིས་ཀྱི་ནང་མཐའ་ནས་རུས་པའི་དྲ་ཕྱེད་གསུམ་བཤིབས་ཏེ་འཕྱང་བའོོ། །
Bracelets: On the front of the wrist is a six-spoked bone wheel and on the back of the wrist is a three-spoked bone wheel. In between these two wheels, two bone garlands are evenly arranged in a criss-cross pattern. From the inner edges of both wheels, three bone half-chains hang down side by side.

དཔུང་རྒྱན་ནི། དཔུང་པའི་མདུན་ངོས་སུ་རུས་པའི་འཁོར་ལོོ་རྩིབས་དྲུག་པ། དཔུང་པའི་རྒྱབ་ངོས་སུ་རུས་པའི་འཁོར་ལོོ་རྩིབས་གསུམ་པ། འཁོར་ལོོ་དེ་གཉིས་ཀྱི་བར་དུ་རུས་པའི་ཕྲེང་བ་གཉིས་བཤིབས་ཀྱིས་ཀུ་རུ་ཁའི་ཚུལ་དུ་སྤེལ་བ། འཁོར་ལོོ་དེ་གཉིས་ཀྱི་ཕྱི་མཐའ་ནས་རུས་པའི་དྲ་ཕྱེད་གསུམ་བཤིབས་ཏེ་འཕྱང་བའོོ། །
Armbands: On the front of the upper arm is a six-spoked bone wheel and on the back of the upper arm is a three-spoked bone wheel. In between these two wheels, two bone garlands are evenly arranged in a criss-cross pattern. From the outer edges of both wheels, three bone half-chains hang down side by side.

ཞབས་གདུབ་ནི། ཞབས་ཀྱི་ལོོང་བུའི་མདུན་ངོས་སུ་རུས་པའི་འཁོར་ལོོ་རྩིབས་དྲུག་པ། རྒྱབ་ངོས་སུ་རྩིབས་གསུམ་པ། འཁོར་ལོོ་དེ་གཉིས་ཀྱི་བར་དུ་རུས་པའི་ཕྲེང་བ་གཉིས་བཤིབས་ཀྱིས་ཀུ་རུ་ཁའི་ཚུལ་དུ་སྤེལ་བ། འཁོར་ལོོ་དེ་གཉིས་ཀྱི་གོང་མཐའ་ནས་རུས་པའི་དྲ་ཕྱེད་གསུམ་བཤིབས་ཏེ་སྣེ་མོོ་གྱེན་དུ་ཕྱོོགས་པའོོ།
Anklets: On the front of the ankle is a six-spoked bone wheel and on the back is a three-spoked one. In between these two wheels, two bone garlands are evenly arranged in a criss-cross pattern. From the upper edges of both wheels, three bone half-chains hang side by side, pointed upward.
