The Four Empowerments
The Five Knowledge Empowerments: རིག་པའི་དབང་ལྔ་།
- Water: to extinguish the fire of anger ཞེ་སྡང་མེ་གསོད་ཆུ་ཡི་དབང་།
- Crown: to demolish the mountain of pride ང་རྒྱལ་རི་བསྙིལ་དབུ་རྒྱན་དབང་།
- Vajra: to destroy the poison of attachment འདོད་ཆགས་དུག་འཇོམས་རྡོ་རྗེའི་དབང་།
- Bell: to release the chains of jealousy ཕྲག་དོག་ལྕགས་སྒྲོལ་དྲིལ་བུའི་དབང་།
- Name: to clear away the darkness of ignorance གཏི་མུག་མུན་སེལ་མིང་གི་དབང་།
The crown used for the crown-empowerment has five sections corresponding to:

In Cakrasamvara/Vajrayogini, there are eleven parts of the vase empowerment: བུམ་དབང་བཅུ་གཅིག
- The five of water, crown, vajra, bell and name ཆུའི་དབང་དང་། ཅོད་པན་གྱི་དབང་། རྡོ་རྗེའི་དབང་། དྲིལ་བུའི་དབང་། མིང་གི་དབང་།
- The Vajra Master empowerment རྡོ་རྗེ་སློབ་དཔོན་གྱི་དབང་།
- The Mantra empowerment སྔགས་ཀྱི་དབང་།
- The Prophesy and Breath empowerment ལུང་བསྟན་དང་དབུགས་དབྱུང་གཉིས་གཅིག་ཏུ་མཛད་པའི་དབང་།
- The Vajra Discipline empowerment རྡོ་རྗེའི་བརྟུལ་ཞུགས་ཀྱི་དབང་།
- The Conduct Discipline empowerment སྤྱོད་པའི་བརྟུལ་ཞུགས་ཀྱི་དབང་།
