Generation and Completion stage taking the three bodies
འཆི་བའི་རིམ་པ་འདི་རྣམས་སྔགས་བླ་མེད་ཀྱི་བསྐྱེད་རྫོགས་གཉིས་ཀྱི་འཆི་བ་ཆོས་སྐུར་འཁྱེར་བའི་ལམ་འཁྱེར་དང༌།
དཔེ་དང་དོན་གྱི་འོད་གསལ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྦྱང་གཞིའི་གཙོ་བོ་ཡིན་པས་འདི་རྣམས་ལ་གོ་བ་ལེགས་པར་ཆགས་པ་ཤིན་ཏུ་གལ་ཆེའོ།
These stages of death are the main bases for training in terms of Highest Yoga Tantra's Generation and Completion stage practices of taking into the path in terms of taking death as the Dharmakaya and of the Example and Meaning Clear Lights. Therefore, it is very important to develop a proper understanding of these.
བར་དོའི་རྣམ་བཞག་འདི་དག་བླ་མེད་ཀྱི་བསྐྱེད་རིམ་གྱི་བར་དོ་ལོངས་སྐུར་འཁྱེར་བའི་ལམ་འཁྱེར་དང༌།
དག་མ་དག་གི་སྒྱུ་ལུས་ཀྱི་སྦྱང་གཞི་ཡིན་པས་ཞིབ་ཏུ་ཤེས་པ་གལ་ཆེའོ།
This presentation of the intermediate state is the basis for training in terms of Highest Yoga Tantra's Generation and Completion Stage practices of taking into the path in terms of taking the intermediate state as the Sambhogakaya and of the Pure and Impure Illusory Bodies. Therefore, it is very important to understand in detail.
དེ་ལྟར་བར་དོ་མངལ་དུ་ཉིང་མཚམས་སྦྱར་ནས་སྐྱེ་བ་ལེན་པའི་རྣམ་གཞག་འདི་དག་ནི། བསྐྱེད་རིམ་པའི་སྐྱེ་བ་སྤྲུལ་སྐུར་འཁྱེར་བའི་ལམ་འཁྱེར་དང༌། རྫོགས་རིམ་པའི་དག་མ་དག་གི་སྒྱུ་ལུས་རྣམས་རགས་པའི་སྤྲུལ་སྐུ་འཛིན་པའམ་ཕུང་པོ་རྙིང་པ་ལ་ཞུགས་ཏེ་ཐ་མལ་པའི་མིག་ལམ་དུ་གྱུར་པ་དང་རྣམ་པ་མཐུན་ཞིང་དེ་དག་གི་སྦྱང་གཞི་ཡིན་ཏེ།
This presentation of taking birth through the intermediate state connecting with the womb as such is the basis for training in the Generation Stage practice of taking into the path in terms of taking birth as the Nirmanakaya as well as the Completion Stage practice of the Pure and Impure Illusory Bodies of assuming a coarse emanation body or entering into the old aggregates and thus being visible to ordinary beings.
དེ་ཡང་བསྐྱེད་རྫོགས་གཉིས་ཀྱི་སྦྱང་གཞི་ལ་ཁྱད་པར་མེད་པས།
Since there is no difference in terms of the bases of training wrt the Generation and Completions Stages:
- Completion Stage: The three - death, intermediate state, and birth of the basis - are taken as the bases of training and their three trainings of taking into the path are cultivated in a similar aspect to those three:
བསྐྱེད་རིམ་ནི། གཞིའི་འཆི་བ་དང༌། བར་དོ་དང༌། སྐྱེ་བ་གསུམ་སྦྱང་གཞིར་བྱས་ནས་སྦྱོང་བྱེད་ལ་དེ་གསུམ་དང་རིམ་བཞིན་རྣམ་པ་མཐུན་པར་- Taking death as the Dharmakaya འཆི་བ་ཆོས་སྐུར་འཁྱེར་བའི་ལམ་འཁྱེར་དང༌།
- Taking the intermediate state as the Sambhogakaya བར་དོ་ལོངས་སྐུར་འཁྱེར་བའི་ལམ་འཁྱེར་དང༌།
- Taking birth as the Nirmanakaya སྐྱེ་བ་སྤྲུལ་སྐུར་འཁྱེར་བའི་ལམ་འཁྱེར་གསུམ་ཡན་ལག་དང་བཅས་པ་བསྒོམས་ཏེ།
- Such that ordinary death, intermediate state, and birth having been purified, the three bodies whose aspects accurately accord with those three are actualised.
རྒྱུད་ནས་ཐ་མལ་གྱི་འཆི་བ། བར་དོ། སྐྱེ་བ་གསུམ་སྦྱངས་ནས། དེ་གསུམ་དང་རྣམ་པ་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་མཐུན་པའི་སྐུ་གསུམ་མངོན་དུ་བྱེད་པ་ཡིན་ལ། - Generation Stage: This is the actual training of those three through a path that accurately accords with the aspect of those three of the basis:
རྫོགས་རིམ་ནི་གཞིའི་ཆོས་གསུམ་པོ་དེ་དང་རྣམ་པ་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་མཐུན་པའི་ལམ་གྱིས་དེ་གསུམ་དངོས་སུ་སྦྱོང་བྱེད་ཡིན་ཏེ།- Those accurately according with the aspect of the Clear Light of death: Appearance, Increase, Near-Attainment, as well as Clear Light on the occasions of Body Isolation, Speech Isolation, Mind Isolation, Illusory Body, and the Learner's Union དེ་ཡང་འཆི་བ་འོད་གསལ་དང་རྣམ་པ་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་མཐུན་པ་ནི། ལུས་དབེན། ངག་དབེན། སེམས་དབེན། སྒྱུ་ལུས། སློབ་པའི་ཟུང་འཇུག་རྣམས་ཀྱི་གནས་སྐབས་ཀྱི་སྣང་མཆེད་ཐོབ་གསུམ་འོད་གསལ་དང་བཅས་པ་ཡིན་ལ།
- Those accurately according with the aspect of the intermediate state: The Third Stage Impure Illusory Body and the Pure Illusory Body of the Learner's Union
བར་དོ་དང་རྣམ་པ་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་མཐུན་པ་ནི། རིམ་པ་གསུམ་པའི་མ་དག་པའི་སྒྱུ་ལུས་དང༌། སློབ་པའི་ཟུང་འཇུག་གི་དག་པའི་སྒྱུ་ལུས་ཡིན་ཞིང༌། - Those accurately according with the aspect of birth: The Pure and Impure Illusory Bodies entering into the old aggregates and becoming visible to ordinary beings.
སྐྱེ་བ་དང་རྣམ་པ་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་མཐུན་པ་ནི། དག་མ་དག་གི་སྒྱུ་ལུས་རྣམས་ཕུང་པོ་རྙིང་པ་ལ་ཞུགས་ཏེ་ཐ་མལ་པའི་མིག་ལམ་དུ་གྱུར་པ་དེ་ཡིན་ནོ།
རྫོགས་རིམ་གྱི་ལམ་དེ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་སྐྱེ་ཤི་བར་དོ་གསུམ་སྦྱོང་ཚུལ་དངོས་ནི།
The actual way in which those Completion Stage paths purify death, intermediate state, and birth:
- Purifying death: The Completion Stage yogi, through the force of meditative stabilisation, ceases the very subtle mind (which is one part of the indivisible nature of the very subtle winds and minds in their continuum) from continuing along its similar-types and transforming into the ordinary clear light of death; instead transforming it into that which is of similar aspect to it: the path-time example and meaning clear lights as well as into the resultant clear light of the Dharmakaya.
རྫོགས་རིམ་གྱི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་བས་རང་རྒྱུད་ཀྱི་ཤིན་ཏུ་ཕྲ་བའི་རླུང་སེམས་ངོ་བོ་དབྱེར་མེད་ཀྱི་ཡ་གྱལ་ཤིན་ཏུ་ཕྲ་བའི་སེམས་དེ་རིགས་འདྲ་གཅིག་ནས་གཅིག་ཏུ་བརྒྱུད་དེ་འཆི་བ་རང་དགའི་འོད་གསལ་དུ་འགྱུར་བ་དེ་ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་གྱི་མཐུས་བཀག་ནས། དེ་དང་རྣམ་པ་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་མཐུན་པའི་ལམ་དུས་སུ་དཔེ་དང་དོན་གྱི་འོད་གསལ་དང༌། འབྲས་བུའི་འོད་གསལ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྐུར་བསྒྱུར་བ་ནི་འཆི་བ་སྦྱོང་ཚུལ་དང༌། - Purifying the intermediate state: The Completion Stage yogi, through the force of meditative stabilisation, ceases the very subtle winds from continuing along their similar-types, acting as the mount for the ordinary clear light of death, and arising as the intermediate state body; instead transforming them into that which is of similar aspect to it: the Impure Illusory Body and the Pure Illusory Bodies of the Learner's and Non-Learner's Unions.
རྫོགས་རིམ་གྱི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་བས་དེ་འདྲའི་ཤིན་ཏུ་ཕྲ་བའི་རླུང་དེ་རིགས་འདྲ་གཅིག་ནས་གཅིག་ཏུ་བརྒྱུད་དེ་འཆི་བ་འོད་གསལ་རང་དགའ་བའི་བཞོན་པ་བྱས་ནས་བར་དོའི་ལུས་སུ་ལྡང་བ་དེ་ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་གྱི་མཐུས་བཀག་ནས། བར་དོ་དང་རྣམ་པ་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་མཐུན་པའི་མ་དག་པའི་སྒྱུ་ལུས་དང༌། སློབ་མི་སློབ་ཀྱི་ཟུང་འཇུག་གི་དག་པའི་སྒྱུ་མའི་སྐུར་བསྒྱུར་བ་ནི་བར་དོ་སྦྱོང་ཚུལ་ཡིན་ལ། - Purifying birth: When such an Illusory Body is established, the intermediate state is forever ceased and through the force of that, taking birth in the womb through karma and afflictions is also ceased; instead, in a similar aspect to the intermediate state being taking birth in the mother's womb, the Illusory Body enters the old aggregates, explains the Dharma, and strives towards accomplishing higher paths.
དེ་ལྟ་བུའི་སྒྱུ་ལུས་གྲུབ་པ་ན་བར་དོ་གཏན་ནས་ཁེགས་ཤིང་དེའི་མཐུས་ལས་ཉོན་གྱིས་མངལ་དུ་སྐྱེ་བ་འཛིན་པའི་སྐྱེ་བའང་ཁེགས་ནས་བར་དོ་མའི་མངལ་དུ་སྐྱེ་བ་ལེན་པ་དང་རྣམ་པ་མཐུན་པར་སྒྱུ་ལུས་ཕུང་པོ་རྙིང་པ་ལ་ཞུགས་ཏེ་ཆོས་འཆད་པ་དང་ལམ་གོང་མ་སྒྲུབ་པའི་རྩོལ་བ་བྱེད་པ་ནི་སྐྱེ་བ་སྦྱོང་ཚུལ་ཡིན་ནོ།
དེས་ན་སྐྱེ་ཤི་བར་དོ་གསུམ་དངོས་སུ་འགོག་པར་བྱེད་པའི་རྩ་བ་ནི་སྒྱུ་ལུས་ཀྱི་དངོས་རྒྱུར་གྱུར་པའི་སེམས་དབེན་མཐར་ཐུག་གི་དཔེའི་འོད་གསལ་ཉིད་ཡིན་ཏེ།
དེས་འཆི་བ་དངོས་སུ་ཁེགས་པའི་སྟོབས་ཀྱིས་བར་དོ་དང་སྐྱེ་བ་རང་ཤུགས་ཀྱིས་ཁེགས་པའི་ཕྱིར་རོ།
Therefore, the root of actually ceasing birth, death, and the intermediate state, is the Example Clear Light of Final Mind Isolation that is the direct cause of the Illusory Body because through the force of that explicitly ceasing death, the intermediate state and birth are implicitly ceased.
དེ་འདྲའི་དཔེའི་འོད་གསལ་ལས་སྒྱུ་ལུས་གྲུབ་པའི་ཚེ་བར་དོ་གཏན་ནས་ཁེགས་པ་ཡིན་ཏེ། བར་དོའི་ལུས་སུ་ལྡང་བའི་ཤིན་ཏུ་ཕྲ་བའི་རླུང་དེ་སྒྱུ་མའི་སྐུར་གྱུར་ཟིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
When the Illusory Body is accomplished through that Example Clear Light, the intermediate state is forever ceased because the very subtle winds that would arise as the intermediate state body have already transformed into the Illusory Body.
བར་དོ་གཏན་ནས་ཁེགས་ན་ལས་ཉོན་གྱིས་སྐྱེ་བ་མི་ལེན་པའི་རྒྱུ་མཚན་གྱིས། སྒྱུ་ལུས་ཐོབ་ན་ཚེ་དེ་ལ་འཚང་རྒྱ་བས་ཁྱབ་བོ།
The reason for not taking birth through karma and affliction if the intermediate state is forever ceased, is that if the Illusory Body is attained, then there is pervasion that Buddhahood is attained in that life.
