Causes of non-revealing forms
རྣམ་པར་རིག་བྱེད་མ་ཡིན་པའི་གཟུགས་ཆོས་ཅན།
(Gendun Drub:) The subject - non-revealing forms -
- They are not conjoined because of being unobstructive མ་ཟིན་པ་ཡིན་ཏེ། ཐོགས་མེད་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
- They are arisen from concordant-causes because apart from the initial moment of an arya, they arise from their homogenous causes རྒྱུ་མཐུན་ལས་བྱུང་བ་ཡིན་ཏེ། དང་པོ་འཕགས་པ་མ་གཏོགས་སྐལ་མཉམ་གྱི་རྒྱུ་ལས་བྱུང་བའི་ཕྱིར།
- They are not arisen from fruition because of being definitely either virtue or non-virtue
རྣམ་སྨིན་ལས་མ་བྱུང་སྟེ། དགེ་མི་དགེ་གང་རུང་དུ་ངེས་པའི་ཕྱིར། - They are not arisen from amassment because of not being a physical thing remaining upon aggregation
རྒྱས་བྱུང་མ་ཡིན་ཏེ། བསགས་པར་གནས་པའི་གཟུགས་ཅན་མ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར། - They are indicative of sentient beings because of being included within the continuum
སེམས་ཅན་དུ་སྟོན་པ་ཡིན་ཏེ། རྒྱུད་ཀྱིས་བསྡུས་པའི་ཕྱིར།
(GJG:) How can something be not conjoined but at the same time included within the continuum?
ཟག་བཅས་ཀྱི་ལུས་དང་ངག་གི་ལས་རིག་བྱེད་དང་རིག་བྱེད་མ་ཡིན་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་ནི་རང་གི་ས་པའི་འབྱུང་བ་དག་རྒྱུར་བྱས་པ་ཡིན་ཏེ། འདོད་པར་གཏོགས་པའི་ལུས་ངག་གི་ལས་འདོད་པའི་འབྱུང་བ་རྒྱུར་བྱས་པ་ཡིན་པ་ནས་བསམ་གཏན་བཞི་པའི་ས་པའི་ལུས་ངག་གི་ལས་ནི་བསམ་གཏན་བཞི་བའི་ས་པ་ཁོ་ནའི་འབྱུང་བ་རྒྱུར་བྱས་པའི་བར་དུའོ།
(Chim:) All contaminated revealing and non-revealing actions of body and speech have the elements of their own level acting as their causes because:
- The actions of body and speech included in the Desire Realm have elements included in the Desire Realm acting as their causes; and up to
- The actions of body and speech included in the Fourth Concentration only have elements included in the Fourth Concentration acting as their causes.
ཟག་མེད་ཀྱི་ལུས་ངག་གི་ལས་ནི་རྟེན་དབང་བཙན་པས་སྡོམ་པ་དེ་གང་དུ་སྐྱེས་པའི་ས་པ་དེའི་འབྱུང་བ་དག་ཡིན་ཏེ།
ཟག་མེད་ཁམས་སུ་མ་གཏོགས་ཤིང་འབྱུང་བ་ལ་ངེས་པར་ལྟོས་ལ་ཟག་མེད་ལ་འབྱུང་བ་གཞན་མེད་པའི་ཕྱིར་རོ།
Uncontaminated actions of body and speech have a more powerful support and therefore it is the elements of the level where the vows arise because 1) the uncontaminated are not included within the realms while definitely relying upon the elements and 2) the uncontaminated do not have separate elements.
དེའི་ཕྱིར་འདོད་ཁམས་པའི་རྒྱུད་ལ་ཟག་མེད་ཀྱི་སྡོམ་པ་སྐྱེས་ན་དེ་འདོད་པའི་འབྱུང་བ་ལས་སྐྱེས་སོ་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་ལ་སོགས་པའོ།
Therefore, if uncontaminated vows are produced in a continuum of the Desire Realm, they are produced from the elements of the Desire Realm and so forth.
Moreover, regarding non-revealing forms: དེ་ཡང་རྣམ་པར་རིག་བྱེད་མིན་པ་
- Since their nature is not being a form that is an accumulation of subtle particles, they do not abide in a particular place
དེའི་རང་གི་ངོ་བོ་ནི་རྡུལ་ཕྲན་བསགས་པའི་གཟུགས་མ་ཡིན་པས་ཡུལ་ན་མི་གནས་ཤིང་། - Since they are not the support of minds and mental factors, i.e. of pleasant and unpleasant feelings through their benefit and harm, they are not conjoined
ཕན་གནོད་ཀྱིས་ཚོར་བ་བདེ་སྡུག་ལ་སོགས་པ་སེམས་སེམས་བྱུང་གི་རྟེན་མ་ཡིན་པས་མ་ཟིན་པ་དང་། - Since they are produced from homogenous causes, they are arisen from concordant-causes
སྐལ་མཉམ་གྱི་རྒྱུ་ལས་སྐྱེས་པའི་ཕྱིར་རྒྱུ་མཐུན་ལས་བྱུང་བ་ཡིན་གྱི། - They are not fruitions and amassments, respectively: རྣམ་སྨིན་དང་རྒྱས་བྱུང་ནི་མ་ཡིན་ཏེ།
- Since they are definite as virtuous or non-virtuous, they are not unspecified;
རིམ་པ་ལྟར་དགེ་མི་དགེར་ངེས་པས་ལུང་མ་བསྟན་མ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར་དང་། - Since they are not an accumulation of subtle particles, causes of amassment do not make them amass
རྡུལ་ཕྲན་བསགས་པ་མ་ཡིན་པས་རྒྱས་པའི་རྒྱུ་དག་གིས་རྒྱས་པར་མི་བྱེད་པའི་ཕྱིར་རོ།
- Since they are definite as virtuous or non-virtuous, they are not unspecified;
- They are indicative of sentient beings because of being phenomena included within the continuum
སེམས་ཅན་དུ་སྟོན་པ་ཡིན་ཏེ། རྒྱུད་དུ་གཏོགས་པའི་ཆོས་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར་རོ།
